Welcome to my website

video of Fort Myers

The exchange rate is now down around
$1.50 to the £1

Still a good time to buy despite the drop in the exchange rate because prices have dropped as well. If you bought a year ago when £1 = $2,
A $200k home would have cost you £100k. Now that same home will cost you $150k!
Do the maths!!

Also now is a very good time to sell if you
bought when the exchange rate was higher!!

Frequently Asked Questions

1. How easy is it to get a 'green card'?

Go to www.BritishFlorida.com Absolutely packed with useful information, this is perhaps the best
website for everything you will ever need to know if you are coming to Florida including immigration links.
Another website worth viewing for immigration is www.everyvisa.com

2. Has the Florida real estate market bottomed out yet?

Who know's! I think it has but we will not know until after it has recovered, and it will. Historically, real estate always increases in value over time. Buyer's determine the true value by the price they are prepared to pay and like any commodity, this is determined by supply and demand. I make no gaurentee's, I have no crystal ball, like any investment, you and only you can make that decision.

3. With all the home's for sale in SW Florida, who is going to buy them?

Florida has been a favourite retirement haven for many year's or at least since the invention of air conditioning. Typically it has been inhabited by elderly people but more and more young family's are moving here. American's can receive their social security pension at 62 albeit a reduced amount instead of waiting until full retirement age. The 'baby boomers' reach 62 in 2008 and so we expect the inventory of homes for sale to be absorbed very soon.

4. How does the cost of living in SW Florida compare to that in the U.K.?

Cheaper! Any visitor from the U.K. to America will tell you how much less expensive the cost of living is in The United State's. Examples include petrol at under $3.50 per gallon, most foodstuff's with a few exceptions (Bring your own Marmite! and teabags) luxury goods including cars, designer clothing, eating out, etc. etc. but first check with customs U.K. before you even think about taking anything back to the 'Ole Country! (ESPECIALLY GOLF CLUBS)!!...
